i found the cutest little pirate today...arrrr

i truly enjoyed today (october 23 08). after trying to find my spare keys to unlock the car doors that logan locked (keys inside) i thanked my lucky stars that i found them in a purse i haven't used for months, then i loaded the kids up in the car to go to walmart in hopes to find some inspiration to put Logan's halloween costume together. he is going to be a pirate, that's easy right? well not for me. i waited too long to get the cute shirt and pants from pottery barn, now they don't have his size and i just can't find any other pirate costume that makes me all giddy. i don't want him to be a mean dark pirate, but a bright happy kind of pirate. is there such a thing? there will be! i think i really pulled it together. we were in walmart for a good hour roaming and deciding. i bought a size 10 white collard shirt (littlest size they had), a hanna montana scarf, black sweat pants, a red bandanna, adult size pirate boot covers, the earring and eye patch, and hat. thought that would have to do. we got home and i so eagerly put Boston down for her nap (not meant to be mean, she was a really good girl but i wanted to start getting creative). i told Logan we were going to play, he was super excited. i told him we were going to dress him up as a pirate. he knows that is what he'll be for halloween and he said, "it's halloween?!" i said, "not yet, but we need to be prepared for when it is, next week!" "okay mom" he said (which is what he says a lot lately...could you go get your shoes, "okay mom.", we are going to be leaving in a few minutes "okay mom", after hitting me in the head with a toy, "okay mom?"...cutest okays every!) so we got to work and he was super cooperative...that i wasn't expecting! we got him all dress, cut the shirt up, cut the scarf up, tied the bandanna, clipped on the earring, put on the eye patch and the hat, finally the boot covers over his snow boots. then off to the bathroom to grow a little mustache and side burns. i told him before i started that we would go outside and take pictures when we are all done, he was surprisingly excited about that. so outside we went. he was such a ham. we got some super cute pictures of him.

so if you happen to see this little pirate roaming around on halloween know that i've already claimed him. he's mine. and i love him dearly.

this one cracks me up because i didn't see the location of his hand when i took the shot. did he have to pee or is he just showing his pirate manhood? i don't know, i may have to remind him he's not a pirate/rapper!...

disclaimer: sorry the pictures are so pixilated. in my attempt to resize them bigger, blogger won't respond to the change (it isn't working and it is making me so frustrated...anyone else having that problem?) so i tried it the manual way....
